Wij zijn Johan en Ina Westra en hebben vier kinderen. Wij zijn de vierde generatie Westra die op deze plek een boerderij hebben. De familie Westra kwam in de jaren twintig uit Glanerbrug naar Notter om een boerderij te beginnen. Het Notterveld was van oorsprong een gebied met veel heidegronden en arme zandgronden. De kleine boerenwoning is ook uit deze tijd. Het is een arbeiderswoning met een stal dat plaats bood voor tien koeien en zes stuks jongvee. De woning wijkt af van de traditionele bouw van deze streek. De grote woning is in 1953 gebouwd. Het rechtergedeelte van de grote woning is nu omgebouwd tot Bed and Breakfast.

Wij hebben een boerderij met jongvee en melkkoeien. Inmiddels is ons melkveebedrijf uitgebreid met verschillende neventakken zoals een ambachtelijk timmerbedrijfje. In de achterliggende jaren is ook het idee geboren om een Bed and Breakfast te beginnen voor de vele wandelaars en fietsers die worden aangetrokken door het afwisselende Twentse landschap.
