Shifting sands, heathland, fens and lakes alternate with endless panoramic views over green meadows and the soothing gurgle of the river De Vecht. Cycling and walking along rivers, castles, country houses and through nature reserves and cosy villages. Besides Nieuwleusen, Dalfsen, Hattem, Staphorst, Giethoorn, Meppel and Ommen are definitely worth a visit. Or visit the beautiful Hanseatic cities of Zwolle, Kampen and Deventer.
