Holiday property - Huisje in Hallum (Bartlehiem)

It's early in the morning, your husband is still sound asleep. At home with the sounds of the city, he would be long awake.
You silently walk outside, warming your hands on a fresh cup of coffee. You sit down on the bench and watch a pair of shelducks paddle by right in front of you. You marvel every time at the sound they make.
With binoculars you check to see if the Crested Grebes are still in the Plas-Dras country.
Alarmed Meadow Birds draw your attention and you see Black-tailed godwits and Lapwings attacking a Rook above the land where their eggs lie.
A motorboat hums closer, containing two fishermen who kindly raise their arms. "Nice spot!" you hear one of them call out.
As the sound of their engine dies away, you close your eyes and enjoy the wonderful silence with only the sounds of nature.
Here in the middle of the meadows, only the sound of a passing car can be heard at a distance. Delightful!
