We hebben na jaren in een camper, voor het eerst in een huisje vakantie gevierd. Dit was een groot succes.

Ruim een week verbleven in een van de sfeervolle chalets met een fantastisch uitzicht over het Grootdiep. Het park is kleinschalig en bijzonder ruim en groen opgezet. Het biedt verschillende soorten (leuke!) accommodaties en is s'avonds sprookjesachtig verlicht. Ook borrelen of eten in het Paviljoen is een aanrader: mooie kaart, duurzame producten en groenten uit eigen moestuin.

We hebben erg genoten van chalet comfort!!! Prima huis???? We hebben 2 dingen gemist: lamp onder de veranda en een extra keukenkastje voor eigen spullen

Wij waren voor de 7e keer te gast op vakantiepark de Schreiershoek en hebben het wederom prima naar de zin gehad! Dit keer hadden we prima weer, wat ons verblijf nog aangenamer maakte.

”The vacation park of Dokkum”, the entrance sign at the park now reads. It started some 30 years ago, but was certainly not a ”vacation park” then. Imagine when the recreation area was not yet a quarter in size and not a tree or path could be found in the area.

Parents of the current owner started this adventure in 1990, a house was bought in 1986 which still serves as a company house today, in the process they bought along with the house, a piece of pasture. The former owners had a nice idea for the piece of meadow, ”perhaps in the future a mini camping ” In early 1990, the mini camping for the first time to see on a SVR fair, ”Camping at the farm” Not more than that because the mini camping was equipped with a small toilet building with one electricity point. Here and there were planted saplings which now blow out above all the roofs.

The name Schreiershoek, which was also conceived as a company name around 1990, is not a random name. In the younger years of Dokkum, when Dokkum was still a real trading town the ships from the port of inner-city Dokkum sailed to open sea, they sailed past this spot. Seen from above you will notice that from Dokkum Schreiershoek Recreation is the first location where the wood-built ships sailed to. Which made this the perfect place for wives and children to wave goodbye to their husbands and fathers. It was also the place to welcome them back with open arms and white handkerchiefs. One never knew in those days how long the sailors stayed away. Sometimes months, sometimes years but sometimes did not return…

Schreiershoek stands for sadness and happiness, others say ”schrei” stands for crooked as in ”crooked corner”. In either case, it is a fitting name for this recreation company.

Today, Schreiershoek Recreation is a full-fledged vacation park with 16 vacation homes, restaurant Het Paviljoen, boats and sloop rental and we organize tours through Dokkum.

Our team stands for honesty and carefree service. You come here to relax and enjoy the surroundings. With all amenities at your fingertips, everything within walking distance and right on the water makes this vacation park a wonderfully cozy and atmospheric accommodation. We welcome you to the park where you can enjoy endlessly.
